The Local Area Plan was prepared with Wicklow County Council and adopted in May 2006.  The Masterplan was prepared for the expansin of the town centre for mixed-use urban development, residential development, linear and parkland open space, a retail park and a relief road.  Retail Warehousing was permitted in 2008.
